San Diego, California Wedding Videographer | Robbyn & Daniel's Intimate Mountaintop Wedding

“I WANT TO LIVE AS BELOVED PEOPLE TOGETHER.
BOTH BY GOD AND EACH OTHER.
AND I WANT US TO HELP OTHERS KNOW THEY ARE BELOVED TOO.”

This sentiment that Robbyn shared in her letter to Daniel was exactly the heart that resonated and drove their entire wedding day.

The celebration felt like a backyard gathering of close friends and family, and Robbyn and Daniel showed care and honor for their loved ones in a multitude of heartfelt and intentional ways.

The couple decided not to have a formal wedding party, and instead invited their closest friends and family to experience the day with them at their own pace and enjoy the ceremony from the seats where they would have the best view. They gifted their gals & guys with unique pins that they could later show to the bartender and receive a select whiskey. Like their own personal speakeasy.

At the reception, the couple served slices of pie and ice cream to their guest, hugging and greeting them one by one, an actual labor of their love. You could see these two’s servant hearts every moment of the day.

Highlights of the day

  • Robbyn and all her gals gathered in the kitchen before getting ready to share some wine, grilled cheese and well wishes. They all went around the room and gave one word to describe the kind of marriage they hoped Robbyn & Daniel would have.

  • Seeing so many friends helping set up the tables and chairs, lugging in ice, and just all around investing in Robbyn & Daniel created such a genuine, down to earth vibe.

  • Daniel tossing his bride into his arms after the ceremony! *smooth*

  • The dance moves were KILLER. Everyone gave their 100% out there, I don’t think we’ve ever cheesed so hard while filming.

ROBBYN & DANIEL’s STORY

“Well we met at a church event that we both volunteered at. We ran into each other two weeks later at church, and ended up sitting next to each other during the service. I invited Daniel to Yard House with two of my friends Daniel had never met, and he came! We were pretty clearly interested in getting to know each other better, and by the end of the night he had asked for my number and we had set up a plan to go to an art festival together the next weekend.

He proposed after a Good Friday service, he'd been saying he wanted to do a picnic dinner date for a while. He pulled up to the spot we went to after our first official dinner date, where we had our first kiss. At this point I suspected something was happening... We went down to the beach, set up a blanket and the picnic basket. He prayed, and told me to open the basket. Inside was a beautiful bouquet my florist friend had made, and an open box with my light blue sapphire ring in it. I sort of knew this was coming, and I cried anyway. What's unique about our love? I really like being unique. For the longest time I assumed that love was not unique because it was so common. Through dating Daniel, we both have learned how to learn each other. Our love is unique because we learned how to be us, to make it us, and to make it up as we went along. He is the romantic, and I hate cliches. He is simple and easy, and I'm idealistic and thinks through all the options. We've talked through insecurities that actually revealed some strengths, and we grew together in some of the biggest values we shared, which kept us strong.”
