Austin, Texas has quickly become a popular destination for weddings and for good reason. It’s a central location in the United States, where family from the East and West coast can meet up to celebrate. There is no shortage of great places to stay and amazing restaurants to eat at. It’s also not a massive city that you can get lost in. Even as it grows, it maintains that small town feel and comfortable, laid back atmosphere. Below we’ve listed fourteen of our favorite venues for an intimate wedding or elopement in (or slightly outside of) Austin, Texas.
RETRo MID-CENTURY WEDDING VENUES IN AUSTIN
1.THE CARPENTER HOTEL
An old union hall turned hotel, this quiet little getaway is tucked neatly among a grove of pecan trees, right next to Zilker park and within walking distance to Town Lake. It feels like stepping back in time with all all the modern comforts of today. A private elopement can take place inside or outdoor under the unique pavilion. The management of the property are incredibly kind and accommodating as well!

2. SOUTH CONGRESS HOTEL
Stylish and located on one of the most prominent streets in the city, South Congress Hotel has a million vibes to choose from on it’s property. There’s murals, textures, gorgeous light, and lovely suites big enough to have an entire intimate celebration in! Finish it all off with a stroll down SOCO in your wedding garb and feel like the absolute stars you are.

MODERN INDUSTRIAL WEDDING VENUES IN AUSTIN
3. THE CONTEMPORARY JONES CENTER
On the north end of Congress Ave, you’ll find The Contemporary Jones Center, where you can get married in the open air while staying protected from the elements. The street level has an iconic wall that your photographer and videographer will love to shoot in front of, and is complemented by the warm wood atmosphere on the Roof Deck. It is also right across from the historic Paramount Theater!

4. SPRINGDALE STATION
If there was one word we could use to describe Springdale Station, it would be versatile. It’s light and airy or dark and moody on the inside, and has a lovely courtyard with covering in case of unexpected weather. It has all the Austin vibes and is right by Austin Eastciders if you wanna hop over for a drink.

MINIMALIST MODERN WEDDING VENUES IN AUSTIN
5. ONE ELEVEN EAST IN HUTTO
A personal favorite, this is the spot Ryan and I got married at. The Skylight Room features the most beautiful natural light cascading in from the ceiling and the large garage door. Nestled on the Main Street of Hutto, Texas, this historic space polished and made new feels like the best of both worlds and can be dressed up to your taste, or left as it. It’s stunning in all it’s simplistic glory.

6. LINCOLN CHAPEL IN GEORGETOWN
While we have not had the opportunity to film at this venue yet, it seems like an absolute dream to get married at. Check out their Instagram to see the space at all hours of the day. This would even make for a very moody and romantic night ceremony surrounded by candle light.
7. PEACHED SOCIAL HOUSE
This North Austin space includes modern, urban design with clean lines and fabricated shipping containers used within the architecture. For all the foodies out there, Social House offers in-house catering, with a menu that ranges from family-style Korean braised short ribs and ginger salmon to street food tacos and sliders served from their food truck. It’s an experience to say the least!

VINTAGE ROMANTIC WEDDING VENUES IN AUSTIN
8. HOTEL SAINT CECILIA
Hotel Saint Cecilia is super private and super sexy; only hotel guests are allowed on the grounds. If you’re planning a Destination Wedding in Austin, we recommend booking all of the suites and reserving the entire property for your day, as there are only five suites. It’s beautifully landscaped, homey and eclectic. Just like Austin. Suite One even has an outdoor shower!

9. THE ALLAN HOUSE
A hidden gem in the heart of Downtown Austin, this Victorian mansion and outdoor courtyard provide both indoor and outdoor entertaining areas and potential intimate ceremony sites. A stage in the courtyard can accommodate a live band, and the large trees provide shade from the Texas sun. It’s absolutely timeless and one of our favorite places to film.

10. MATTIE’S AT GREEN PASTURES
Mattie’s at Green Pastures is a historic farmhouse space and restaurant that provides their own catering for weddings held onsite, and their food is some of the best we’ve ever had! For an intimate elopement or micro wedding, we’d recommend the Lounge Room or Table Royale. Did we mention there are peacocks roaming the property?

WHIMSICAL WEDDING VENUES IN AUSTIN
11. CASA CARTEL
If you’re looking for an Airbnb/house party vibe, this is the intimate wedding venue for you! Casa Cartel is a historic home mindfully renovated to highlight it’s Mexican heritage. With a Sonos sound system, courtyard pool, and hidden movie room and speakeasy, this venue can accommodate a whole weekend of celebrating.

12. CHAPEL DULCINEA
This Spanish-style FREE chapel in the hill country grants you sweeping views, open air and romantic lighting for your intimate ceremony or elopement. They also installed a Chapel Dulcinea live-stream video camera so that you can invite guests who are unable to attend in person to watch real time. It truly is one of a kind!

13. Justine’s Secret House
Nestled neatly within a brick walled courtyard on East 7th street is this eclectic gem of a space. With amazing in house catering and moody house party energy, this is an amazing venue for under 50 guests that will transport you to a different world and set all the ambience for you to celebrate in style.

You can’t go wrong with Mother Nature. She’s on full display at the LBJ Wildflower Center and ready to be the backdrop of your microwedding. You can go all natural or choose to frame your ceremony with one of the many aesthetic structures throughout the property.
