ICE CREAM SHOP ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS
If you live in Austin, Texas, you know that the summers are HOTT (with two T’s). So what better way to cool down than some ice cream? Emily & Austin took our number one tip for the best engagements photos and planned an activity that is familiar and meaningful to them. A frequent date night for them starts with dinner at Fresca’s on South 1st street and then dessert over at Dolce Neve for gelato. It can be hard to look cute while eating, but these two took on the challenge and we think the images speak for themselves. 10/10 cuteness. We took advantage of the location and also got some photos of them in front of the Austin mural and Roadhouse Relics across the street.
SUNSET ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS ON TOWN LAKE
Lastly, we enjoyed the scenery of Town Lake as the sun dipped behind the hills and the city set aglow in the evening light. Austinites know that the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge is one of the best views of the city skyline at sunset. There is so much activity on this bridge, so we embraced the movement of the bikers and made them a welcome addition to the images. The architecture of the spiral walkway up to the bridge is one of our favorite features in Austin and we think it made for some pretty cool shots.
ENGAGEMENT PHOTO ADVICE
One of the biggest suggestions that we give our couples when planning an engagement session is to do an activity together that feels familiar. The difference is night and day when two people are being photographed doing something that is a huge part of their relationship, rather than just trying to look cool for a picture. This familiarity really helps people that are “camera shy” to feel more comfortable in front of the camera.
We photographed this engagement session on a mixture of Sony & Fuji digital cameras, 35mm film and Instax Polaroid film.
